Background: |
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telecommunications start up company located in Eatontown, NJ. The core management team is largely drawn from the engineering and product marketing development ranks of Bell Laboratories and other major communications and networking firms. Under the leadership of this team, Quintum has created a unique technology called the TENOR GATEWAY. The Tenor Gateway product utilizes a MultiPath switching VoIP architecture that does not exist in any other VoIP product at this time. The architecture makes it very easy to install and can provide high quality voice calls all the time utilizing the client company's existing data network. The technology is currently patent registered / protected at this time. The company was formed in July 1998 and currently has 21 employees. Management is technically well qualified and highly capable. Several major investors are currently interested in providing secondary round private financing which management believes will provide sufficient working capital for growth and development needs between now and when the company goes public. Product sales this calendar year should produce top line revenue of $4M. In calendar year 2001 top line revenues are forecasted to be $ 14MM -18MM. |

Responsibilities:
|
The Global Marketing Manager: Alternative Channels will be responsible for creating the distribution and sale of products to end users located throughout the world. This will be done through building an alternative marketing channel comprised of TELCO/ IT Systems Consultants and Integrators, VADS, VARs, and Service Providers: CLECS and ISPs in the US then Western Europe and Asia. Building and nurturing relationships that will support the marketing needs of the Channel Distribution and Service partners will be the key job responsibility. This responsibility will include structuring tailored marketing programs, providing access to the necessary product training, technical support as well as guiding the development of the channel partnership in a manner that will lead to long term mutual satisfaction and profitability. In addition, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and supporting promotion programs for all alternative channels. |

Experience/ Key Competencies/ Attributes/Style Required: |
Experience: (7-10+ years), experience in the marketing of networking equipment and substantial experience in alternate channel marketing. This individual will have successfully accomplished much of what is detailed in the Position Responsibilities in his/her previous assignments and be able to cite specific detailed accounts of program outcomes directed or managed.
The hired candidate will possess a style and "presence" that will convey patience, maturity, experience and leadership, but will be accessible and friendly in his/her attitude. The new Manager should also possess a style that can be readily characterized as being quick, egalitarian, hard working and have a demonstrated ability to function in an entrepreneurial environment that is long on positive results. |
