As regular readers of NEWS FROM.you are already aware of the great things happening at Stevens Institute of Technology
in their Howe School of Technology Management. Over the past year Jerry MacArthur Hultin joined Stevens as the new Dean
of the Howe School. This is an important development for Stevens since Dean Hultin brings a wealth of experience to his
position. In his most recent previous assignment Jerry was Under Secretary of the Navy during the Clinton Administration.
In that position, ( there is but one Under Secretary) Dean Hultin held principal responsibility for administration of the
multi-billion dollar budget of the United States Navy.an auspicious responsibility, indeed.

"2002 Product of the Year"

Two key client companies were honored for their state of the art products in the Voice Over Internet Protocol
(VoIP) Communications and Networking field. Both Quintum and AVAYA were among a very select group of only 15
companies to receive this important recognition from the industry experts at Convergence responsible for
evaluating the scores of product submissions from top firms in this field. Congratulations to the teams in

Economic Comment Dr. Edmond Seifried
The events of September 11, 2001 are a painful reminder of the political and economic uncertainty we endure.
Since these tragic attacks I have been asked to speak to numerous groups on the economic impact of September
11th on our nation's fragile economy. I have summarized my remarks below.

Our daughter, Kendall A. Kulper, won first prize in her division for
a recent archery tournament sponsored by her club Summit Archers, ably
coached by Jackie Fiala who is a regional representative for the US
Olympic Archery Program. Kendall expects to compete in her division
at the upcoming National Tournament to be held at James Madison
University this coming March....Way to go, Kendall, and good luck at
the Nationals!
