KDK Musings
With MLK DAY and President Elect Obama's inauguration only days away we
wonder what is in store for our great country. Is the sun setting or rising
? We have been through much tougher times than now and we will be
challenged again. With a fresh start comes "hope" for better days. The
pendulum swings in both directions, so "Carpe Diem".....
We will do what Americans have always done, we will persevere until we
succeed.....It won't be easy--never is. Keep pushing.....and do what you
can do to help us all win.
Be in touch ---always good to hear from you.....and much good luck in the
new days ahead.
Peace,

Happy New
Year.............to
all in your family. May 2009 be your best year, yet.
KDK Musings:
As 2008 wraps up what do we have in store for 2009? Here are some
predictions.....
1) The Obama Administration will mark a fresh start for so many aspects of
life in the United States and for people around the world---it is hard to
list them all ! The United States remains the "straw that stirs the
drink"---economically and politically, worldwide...so what happens here
effects everyone---just ask the guys in the Chinese Politburo who have
watched their GDP shrink preciptiously in the past 12 months. Under
President Obama we will see our military exploits begin to diminish in favor
of increased humanitarian and diplomatic efforts. In the United States,
Fiscal initiatives of the Obama Administration will rival those of the
Roosevelt Administration. Key programs will support innovation and
technology development; a healthcare plan for all Americans will get
implemented early in his first term; improved funding for education
K-12---and Higher Education--both public and private will happen; further
economic stimulus coupled with needed regulatory reform will end the
current Recession and produce lasting protections against future excesses ;
massive infrastructure--"quick start" programs will stimulate job creation;
real improvement in consumer confidence, job growth and positive GDP will
occur by mid 2009.....Did I leave anything out? Probably.....but let's
suffice to say that things will start hopping----and we ought to see the
positive effects much sooner than most of the doomsday pundits predict. The
reason is that President Bush has been very busy, too---over the past 18
months trying to help our economy get back on its feet. Remember when oil
prices were $147/ brl? How about when most thought the sub prime and
credit crisis was "no big deal"? These simultaneous shocks were tough to
absorb and even tougher to repair quickly---but President Bush and the FED
have been busy.....and President Obama will benefit from many of the
positive actions already begun during the Bush Administration.
2) The DOW Jones Industrial Average will finish the year above 12,500. It
will have some tough times in the first and second quarters--perhaps dip
below 7500--- but monetary policy stimulus initiated in the last 18months
will kick in.....The Treasury Yield Curve is a reliable indicator....its
been upwardly "sloped" now for several months. There will be many
industries that will experience unprecedented demand including any
associated with infrastructure, innovation & technology, healthcare
etc....----and yes,----specialty services firms, too like Executive
Search...that will be called upon to help fill the leadership gap. We are
looking forward to "value pricing" our services as demand
skyrockets.....later in 2009 to make up for the "freeze" we have had to
endure. Unemployment brought on by relentless downsizing & cost cutting
will suddenly reverse itself....We ought to see the effects here at KULPER &
COMPANY in March or April.....Long time trends indicate that the "search"
industry is a leading indicator of GDP growth.....
3) Science will announce a cure for Diabetes Type I --in late 2009.
Themes of "Wellness and Prevention" will be greatly emphasized in the Obama
Healthcare Plan. Stem Cell research funded by Federal Research Grants
will kick into high gear during 2009.... All of these advances will lead to
greater life expectancy...over the next 5-10 years....particularly in
so-called "third world" countries as medical advances once thought
prohibitively expensive are brought to these countries.
2009 " breakthrough" predictions for some special friends of KULPER &
COMPANY........
