It is impossible for people to remain unbiased about who is the best at anything; do you agree? Nonetheless, we all gravitate to rankings and often put stock in them; particularly if the group compiling the ranking does a credible job. Today’s LinkedIn list of “best universities” is based upon where their graduates are actually working.
How they compiled the ranking is well explained, here.
This survey, compiled by LEARNING HOUSE provides a good overview of the results that are being delivered from online learning initiatives as viewed by VPAA/Chief Academic Officers of independent colleges. Key findings: Nearly all respondents report that revenue is increasing from online offerings//nearly 20% are generating more than $1MM in annual revenue; breadth of courses is broadening/management-business and health related rank at the top; Increasing international enrollments and adding hybrid graduate programs are the top plans for online learning for the next one or two years.

March 4, 2014
During this time of the year universities get particularly busy in their efforts to attract and hire qualified nursing and health professions faculty and administrators. We would be glad to hear from you if you are contemplating using a search firm to assist in the hire of critically needed faculty and administrators.
This year we expanded our service capacity with the addition of a former university nursing department chair to our search support team.
Rather than discuss the features and benefits of our service we thought that presenting a case study would be the best way to convey our service capabilities to you and your colleagues.
KULPER & COMPANY is continuing our study and analysis of online higher education in an effort to better serve our university clients and prospects. If you and your colleagues have decided to grow and develop your online program and you are considering attracting a new leader for it we would like to hear from you please contact us.

Your question I think was—is KULPER & COMPANY doing anything innovative in the area of academic search—-because you haven’t seen much in the way of innovation as it applies to academic search—I think that was the gist of your comment….right?
KULPER & COMPANY is studying online higher education in an effort to better serve our university prospects and clients. The effort is concentrating on discovering which universities among our client and prospect groups are leading the way and which may have work to do. As part of this effort we are studying which universities are creating the best outcomes from their online education effort in terms of student enrollment, profitability and other factors. We are also seeking to identify which VPs, Deans and Directors of online education are the top thought leaders showing the way for others and helping to move university development and growth forward.
Our phone is ringing and our firstname.lastname@example.org “in box” is very active as our university and corporate clients seek to get a jump on the busy hiring season ahead.
We are running 35% ahead of last year at this same time which bodes very well for the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2013.
We will be glad to talk with you about your senior level hires and offer a complimentary consultation—just send along an email and we will respond promptly to your inquiry. The sooner we can get started the sooner you will have your new colleague on board. We work fast because we know how to successfully execute a search assignment and we have the experienced staff to provide the support you need.
We are contacted fairly regularly by prospective clients interested in learning if our firm can be helpful to them in support of their strategic hiring needs. Sometimes we are called well in advance of the hiring need and other times after a search has started and results are proving to be less than optimal.
In both situations we begin by listening because we need to understand the background about the search and to help determine for the client if our firm will be the right one for their need.
Some things we will need to know:
Red Tail Hawk gliding high above….and higher!
At the end of 2012 things were a bit uncertain but at that time we knew that 2013 was looking like it could be a great year for our business and the US economy as a whole. We had a friends luncheon in early January and the talk turned to the outlook for the year ahead. People love to be negative in their outlook—what’s to lose if you are wrong, right? At that luncheon I spoke up and said that I thought the year ahead looked fantastic—one scoffed—one bet me and another ordered pizza.
Our firm is one of the best in providing executive search consulting for academic and corporate search hiring needs. Because we are frequently asked about our Academic Search experience I thought it would be helpful to discuss it in my blog.
We focus on attracting transformational leaders who can step into Provost, VPAA, Dean and VP positions at leading research universities and drive growth and development. We are very experienced in completing Business & Engineering Dean, VP Research, Sponsored Grants Administration and senior faculty/chaired professorship searches.
Our corporate clients benefit from our academic search experience in that we are often able to connect them with top research university principal investigators to help with their product innovation initiatives.
